Internap has revealed that approximately 15,000 square feet of colocation at a new stand alone 45,000 square foot facility will debut adjacent to its existing Boston data center. The expansion helps the company meet strong customer demand for its bundled Internet solutions. The first phase of completion will become available in the fourth quarter of this year. James P. DeBlasio, Chief Executive Officer of Internap noted, ”This initiative is part of our strategic plan to enhance data center offerings in key markets. With this expansion in Boston, Internap now has its ninth owned facility and a total of 43 colocation service points, demonstrating our commitment to serving our customer’s growth requirements now and in the future.”

Infrastructure plans will allow Internap to provide a maximum amount of power and cooling to support a customer’s high-density solutions. This new facility will also take advantage of more environmentally friendly technologies, including ultrasonic humidification, air economizers and circuit level power monitoring, all designed to provide a less energy intensive solution, as compared to previous generations of data centers.

The Boston expansion also provides access to Internap’s Performance IP and Content Delivery Network (CDN) product offerings. These premium Internet connectivity and content delivery services enable customers to deploy next-generation Internet applications such as video and rich media.

Spring, Texas – [Hosting Headlines] – Eleven2 Hosting, a web hosting provider, has relocated to its new, spacious headquarters in Spring, Texas, to accommodate the accelerated growth of its business operations.

Rodney Giles, Co-founder and CEO of Eleven2 noted, ”’We are very excited about this relocation. We feel this new environment will give us the room to continue to expand our personnel in order to meet the needs of our growing customer base.”

Since the company opened in 2004, they have seen its clientele double many times over and now services well over 66,000 websites. In that time, Eleven2 has moved its headquarters five times in order to accommodate.

Mr. Giles continued, ”We feel like we’ve been constantly growing, and with that we’ve had to make many changes to how we do things. Moving as much as we have is all part of the growing process, and we feel that this new location will give us enough room and will meet the needs of our growth for quite a while.”

Recently, the company debuted the launch of a new solution that will work with President George W. Bush’s Economic Stimulus Plan, to provide web hosting services for life, at $600. In January of 2008, Bush announced that U.S. taxpayers would get checks of several hundred dollars from the government in order to boost the economy. Eleven2 immediately began to brainstorm ways on how to give something back as well.

Eleven2 is offering lifetime hosting for $600. Based on the pricing of its “launchParty” plan, $600 would only go as far as roughly eight and a half years.

Established in 2004, Eleven2 Hosting was started by two web developers who, at the time, could not find high quality hosting solutions that met their requirements. Now hosting over 60,000 websites and with ten years of experience, Eleven2 offers shared hosting, reseller hosting, and customized dedicated server plans. Data centers include locations in Houston, TX and Atlanta, GA. The company continues to reinvent the customer experience with VIP, an automated support system developed in-house. Eleven2 Hosting also provides domain sales and database/FTP/email hosting for small to medium sized businesses.

Through the agreement, cPanel license holders, which are generally web hosting providers with large numbers of clients using the control panel, will receive volume discounts on R1Soft’s software, which provides near-continuous disk based backup.

CPanel customers will also receive marketing materials from R1Soft that are intended to help them sell the CDP service to their own customers.

R1Soft says its software now integrates with all the major hosting control panels, including cPanel.

“Providing easy and useful backups is a requirement to stay competitive in the hosting industry. R1Soft takes backups to the next level and we want to make sure that our customers have easy access to that technology,” said Dave Koston, vice president of operations at cPanel, in the press release. “With the ability for users to have access to their high-availability backups right from cPanel, along with the performance and ease of use of R1Soft’s products, it’s a no brainer for our companies to forge this partnership.”

The companies are offering a discount on R1Soft’s software to cPanel users until the end of the month, providing “an introductory collection of continuous data protection software” for $998. The “cPack” includes five copies of each of CDP Agents, CDP for MYSQL and CDP Servers, along with the service provider API for provisioning and one year of technical support and maintenance.

CPanel says the cPack is a savings of more than $2,700. More information about the bundle is available at a landing page on the R1Soft website.

CPanel is currently planning its 2008 partner conference, which takes place June 11 to 13 in Houston, Texas.

Easyspace today announced the launch of its May 2008 special offer, just one of a number of special offers to be rolled out in the coming months.
Until 31st May, all people buying a domain name with Easyspace will be able to purchase any number of .biz domain names for 7.50 pounds each for one year – a saving of 40% on the standard sale price of the domain. The offer lasts only until 31st May and is open to both new and existing customers.

This latest offer comes on the heels of a number of product improvements at Easyspace, not least the reduction in price of it’s Virtual Server range, but also the introduction of virtual servers and the introduction of improved specification Dedicated Servers.

Errol Vanderhorst, Sales and Marketing Director of Easyspace noted, ”While we realise that .coms and .co.uks are the most popular extensions for domain owners in the UK, we feel giving a significant discount on some of the other Top Level Domains opens up an alternative option if customers preferred .com or .co.uk is already registered. We’ve also recently added new mailbox and forwarding features to all domain registrations, meaning alternative domains through Easyspace are now a fantastic option.”

Founded in 1997, Easyspace was one of the first domain and web hosting companies in the UK. Easyspace domains come with the usual admin features, including MX Control, Name Server Control and web redirection. Customers can also take advantage of 100 pound Pay Per Click Vouchers with each domain name.

Palo Alto, California – [Hosting Headlines] – VMware, Inc., a virtualization solutions firm, has reportedly helped to defray costs for customers in the amount of 39 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, which amounts to over the power that is used annually to heat and cool the country of Denmark.

Stephen Herrod, Chief Technology Officer, VMware noted, ”Most servers and desktops today are still consuming 70-80 per cent of their rated power even when idle. VMware is able to deliver substantial power and cost savings through innovative power management capabilities in our virtualization solutions that safely power down or throttle servers when not in use. By powering down servers and desktops during inactive periods such as evenings or weekends, we can help customers save another 25 per cent or more on power consumption without affecting applications or users.”

The virtualization solution firm for desktops to datacentres, reports that by using its virtualization, customers can consolidate 10 or more physical machines onto a single server and reduce power consumption and cost by 80-90 per cent. VMware customers that have moved from a 1:1 application to server ratio to 60:1 or higher have achieved millions of dollars in capital and operational savings.

For every server virtualized, customers can save about 7,000 kilowatt hours (kWh), or four tons of CO2 emissions, every year. VMware has virtualized more than 6 million server workloads since 1998, resulting in an estimated energy savings of nearly 39 Billion kWh, or roughly US4.4 billion. This is roughly equivalent to the total energy consumption of Denmark for one year. PCs virtualized and hosted on servers in the datacentre can also reduce power consumption and cost by 35 per cent. Hosting desktops in the datacentre also doubles the replacement cycle of PCs or thin clients, reducing the environmental impact associated with manufacturing new equipment.

Since 2006, VMware has been an active pioneer inworking with utility companies to offer incentive programs supporting virtualization projects in datacentres. VMware works with utilities across North America including Pacific Gas and Electric, Southern California Edison, SDG and E, BC Hydro and Austin Energy to provide customers incentives based on the amount of energy savings achieved through datacentre consolidation.

Sheffield Hallam, one of the UK’s most innovative and progressive universities with more than 28,000 students and over 5,000 staff, required a number of new IT services to support its user community. This led to the number of servers within the datacentre doubling within twelve months. The building’s electricity grid could not supply enough power to reliably support the required number of servers within the main datacentre, and physical space was also a major issue. Sheffield Hallam is using VMware’s market-leading datacentre virtualization and management platform, VMware Infrastructure 3, to reduce power and cooling requirements in the datacentre and improve the delivery of IT services. VMware Infrastructure 3 provides the capability for automatic load balancing, business continuity and power management and the ability to move a virtual machine across physical machines to minimize service interruption.

Dave Thornley, service support manager, Sheffield Hallam University remarked, ”With the server farm growing towards capacity, we knew a completely new strategy was required. We decided that moving to a virtual infrastructure would be the most effective way to tackle cost management and space issues. Using VMware, we have made a huge impact on our power bills as well as leading to major savings in the deployment of new services to users.”

VMware (NYSE: VMW) is the global leader in virtualization solutions from the desktop to the datacentre. Customers of all sizes rely on VMware to reduce capital and operating expenses, ensure business continuity, strengthen security and go green. With 2007 revenues of $1.3 billion, more than 100,000 customers and nearly 14,000 partners, VMware is one of the fastest growing public software companies. VMware is headquartered in Palo Alto, California and on the web at www.vmware.com. VMware Canada is headquartered in Burlington, Ontario.

Aaron Weller, Director of Crucial Paradigm noted, ”With this new line of plans, businesses or individuals wishing to start using Windows Server 2008 can take advantage of our easy-to-use, robust Virtual Private Server solutions that avoid the costs and limitations of a dedicated server. Virtual Private Servers allow our customers to completely configure and control their entire hosting environment, without being limited by container-based technology that prevents customization. Windows Server 2008 takes our Virtual Private Servers to the next level, and we are excited to introduce it to our customers.”

Released just three months ago, Windows Server 2008 is the latest version of Microsoft’s enterprise operating system, sharing similar software architecture with Windows Vista. Windows Server 2008 allows hosting users to take advantage of native IPv6 support; a self-healing NTFS file system that corrects data corruption in real-time; the ability to install Windows 2008 Server Core, which is a significantly scaled down install without Windows Explorer; and other security and usability enhancements. Many of the new features will be ideal for Virtual Private Server users, who require an extra level of flexibility and security.

Crucial Paradigm will initially offer Windows Server 2008 on two plans, starting at $80/monthly for 35GB of data storage, 300GB of monthly data transfer, and 1GB of server RAM. Customers can choose from three versions of Windows Server 2008 – Standard, Enterprise, or Datacenter.

Founded in 2003, Crucial Paradigm operates in multiple locations around the world. The privately-owned, debt-free company offers a wide range of hosting solutions from Basic Web Hosting to Reseller Hosting, Virtual Dedicated Servers, Dedicated Servers and High Traffic Clusters, custom designed, based on each client’s individual requirements.

BURLINGTON, MA – [Hosting Headlines] – groupSPARK, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and the leading provider of private label hosted software services including hosted Exchange Server 2007, hosted SharePoint Services v3.0, and hosted Dynamics CRM, announced today that groupSPARK senior executive officer, Ravi Agarwal, will be speaking at the ISPCon Spring 2008 conference and trade show.

ISPCon Spring 2008 will be held at the Donald E. Stephens (Rosemont) Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois from May 13-15, 2008. The event brings together 2500+ internet industry professionals including ISPs, webhosting providers, VoIP providers and numerous other internet industry professionals to discuss all facets of internet business including ways to increase revenue and develop new business opportunities.

Ravi Agarwal, groupSPARK senior executive officer, will speak to attendees on Thursday, May 15, 2008 on ways for ISPs and the service provider community to successfully compete in the expanding hosted services arena. His presentation titled SaaS vs. Software + Service: How You Can Survive Microsoft’s Entry into the Hosted Services Market, will speak to the trepidation now felt by resellers of hosted services worldwide regarding Microsoft’s decision to enter the market with their own hosted services offerings. Mr. Agarwal will address the explosive growth in the market and offer strategies resellers can employ to stand apart from the competition and provide value added products and services to their small and mid-size business customers.

“The hosting industry is growing dramatically as more and more SMBs discover that they can pay a small monthly fee and achieved the same level of productivity as large companies by using enterprise class messaging and collaboration tools in a hosted environment. As a result, resellers are looking to take advantage of this trend and offer these services to their customers. However, the recent press surrounding Microsoft’s entry into the hosted Software as a Service market is making many resellers reconsider their decision as they are unsure whether they will be able to compete,” said Ravi Agarwal, senior executive director, groupSPARK division of mindSHIFT Technologies, Inc. “This fear is completely unfounded. There are many ways resellers can differentiate themselves and continue to thrive in this rapidly growing market. There is enough room for everyone to be successful.”

One of the ways that groupSPARK continues to thrive in a competitive market is to offer a full breadth of private label hosted software services through their reseller channel to SMBs who would otherwise be unable to deploy the applications in-house due to their significant cost. Services include hosted Exchange Server 2007, hosted SharePoint Services 3.0, and hosted Dynamics CRM as well as 2-way wireless synchronization with BlackBerry Enterprise Server®, Windows Mobile and Good Mobile Messaging. groupSPARK also offers all resellers live 24 x 7 technical support via phone, email and online chat which is staffed by experts based in the United States.

About groupSPARK

Located in Burlington, Massachusetts, groupSPARK, a mindSHIFT company, is a leading provider of SaaS services, such as Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, Windows SharePoint Services v3.0, and Dynamics CRM, which can be completely private labeled and resold by partners as a part of their own product offerings saving hundreds of thousands of dollars in development and support costs.

Its partners utilize groupSPARK’s turnkey private label platform to provide hosted services to their users in minutes. Partners are able to address scalability and uptime concerns by leveraging groupSPARK’s 100% uptime SLA, private label 24×7 U.S.-based support and proactive hardware and software monitoring capabilities.
